We acted as lead counsel for an Alberta-based midstream company in its months-long negotiation of a complicated joint venture agreement with a U.S. based counterparty, which included a long-term land lease and navigating numerous issues with the municipality.
Working under an extremely short deadline, and against a large opposing party represented by a top-tier national law firm, we negotiated the commercial and operational contracts underpinning the construction of a new 200 mmcf/d gas plant and related facilities in N.W. Alberta.
A few months after completing a successful contract negotiation on behalf of our client, the company on the other side asked to retain us on a completely separate matter because they were so impressed with our industry knowledge and ability to keep both parties focused on the big picture, while still fighting hard for our client.
